Coping with the Effects of Menopause Hormone Levels
Menopause hormone levels change in comparison to what women have when they are in baby bearing years. Because of this, their bodies start to change and they can experience some unpleasant effects in their bodies. Some women have hot flashes that are very uncomfortable and embarrassing to them when they are in public situations. During these flashes, they will flush red and sweat even when they are sitting still and not exerting themselves in any way. These hot flashes can also happen in the night time and interrupt their sleep which leads to other issues as they are not able to get the rest that they need each night for their bodies to repair themselves.
Ways to Treat the Problem
There are ways to treat this problem of changing menopause hormone levels, such as by using menopause hormone replacement. If women have had a hysterectomy, then they will have replacement therapy that only includes estrogen in most cases. If the women have not had a hysterectomy, then they will usually need estrogen and progestin as a hormone therapy to help with their menopause hormone levels so that they are more regulated again. By evening out the hormones in the body, the side effects of menopause are reduced so that the woman is more comfortable day in and day out.
When regulating the menopause hormone levels, there are sometimes some side effects that are experienced. The most common side effects are sore breasts and bloating. The more severe side effects are the increased risk of strokes, heart attacks and blood clots as well as a few others, but they are not very common. The menopause hormone levels can be regulated by taking these hormones in the forms that are best for each women, depending on the symptoms that she has. There are skin patches, pills, shots, implants, vaginal rings, vaginal tablets and creams.
There are also some natural hormone replacement therapies that are used by women because they do not like the idea of using synthetic drugs on a daily basis. These therapies for menopause hormone level regulation usually are made from soy or other natural plant ingredient that contains compounds that are similar to the hormones made by women's bodies. However, these natural supplements are not regulated by the FDA and are not necessarily safe to use on a regular basis, so women should talk to their doctors before choosing any therapy.
